Over the past eighteen years, HSMC has compiled a long list of achievements, becoming the leader in Taiwan's transistor filed. At the same time, the brand name HSMC has become recognized as the number one catch word in the international telephone transistor component industry. At HSMC, we attribute our success to our philosophy of "Think as a Doer. Do as a Thinker". This emphasizes our commitment to smart thinking and swift, well thought-out action. In the high-tech industry, we are acutely aware of how imperative technological breakthroughs are to an advanced lifestyle. We have, therefore, spared no efforts to advance the functions of tiny transistors and develop cutting-edge products that satisfy market demands. The strength of our brand, combined with the development of superior quality products, have allowed us to make continual advances in the global market. The HSMC brand has teamed up with world class leaders, such as LG, ACER and continues to grow with them as long-term partners. As the market has developed, so has our sales performance, growing from NT$80 million to NT$1.47 billion in the past 18 years. With ongoing commitment and perseverance, we believe that our sales will reach new heights in the coming years. WSTS states that the overall world transistor market size reachs US$20 billion by the year 2000, compared with US$13 billion in 1995. We have therefore set an ambitious objective of achieving 2% of the world market share and ranking among the world's top ten transistor giants by the year 2005. In future years, "Think as a doer. Do as a thinker" will continue to serve as HSMC's guiding philosophy as we continue to strengthen our company's position in market. In addition to gradually expanding our production scale, we will also focus on further upgrading our quality. Due to the dedicated teamwork of our entire staff, our electronic products received official accreditation by the Bureau of Commodity Inspection & Quarantine, Ministry of Economic Affairs for ISO9002 in 1995; a significant milestone amidst our efforts for continual quality upgrades. The year 1996 makes the official listing of HSMC stock on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. We will move at a steadfast pace to stimulate efficient company growth and will maximize usage of public funds to bring positive returns to our esteemed investors.
